I am going to celebrate spring with bug themed projects. I started yesterday with the sketchbook challenge that will happen every Sunday: Draw a bug doing something you would do...
Me and my dog Pepper yesterday, as bugs.... |
Doodle Bug Project: Make simple bugs and create a cartoon. Where are the bugs? What are they doing? How can somebody looking at your art tell what is happening?
How to draw a doodle bug (they are cartoons so use your imagination!):
Have fun following the steps below: |
Draw 2 circles side by side and touching |
Add additional sets on the paper |
Add eyeballs and make them look someewhere |
Add the letter "U" to make the body, getting smaller as you draw the tail of your Doodle Bug |
Add a mouth and antenna |
Add 4 wings |
Add curved lines to show wing motion |
Add dashed lines to show flight |
Add color and detail to your background |
More samples to come as I continue to draw and explore!
